Issue Position

As a Texan, I have been embarrassed to see my state being complicit in the atrocities happening on our border. Our State Legislature just passed a budget containing over $800 million for border security in addition to our governor's commitment to send 1,000 of our National Guard troops to the border. These measures don't make us any safer and take funding away from critical needs within our state.

As your Legislator, I promise to:

Fight against the expansion of state funding for border security that doesn't make us any safer
Work hard to ensure Texas is not contributing to the atrocities being committed by the Federal Government on our border
Craft and support policy that lines up with our values as a multicultural state
Protect our Rainy Day Fund for usage on disasters where we will need it, such as Hurricane Harvey
